Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Tau NU Sigma Chapter provides service to the Western Suburbs of Chicago (I-88 Corridor – Maywood, Oakbrook, Naperville, Aurora).. Through a combination of educational pursuits, social action, economic advancement, and community involvement, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Tau NU Sigma hopes to make a positive difference in these communities.
As part of our mission, we will be actively engaging with our communities in a variety of ways. First, we will collaborate with our communities in economic and workforce development. We contribute to career fair/job fair events, small business engagement, Black Spend initiatives, and volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA program). Second, we will be providing services in our schools through an Adopt a School Program. We will be partnering with schools to provide tutoring and mentoring services to students who may be falling behind.
Third, we will be actively involved in social action projects. We will be working to bring about positive change in our communities by engaging directly in issues such as education reform, community violence, and voter education. We seek to make a lasting impact by providing tangible and community-based solutions to the issues our communities are facing. Additionally, we will be seeking to embolden our communities by fostering community events and support groups.
By fulfilling our mission and engaging with our communities in meaningful ways, we hope to make a difference in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. We look forward to continuing our mission and making a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
